A customer in Worcestershire dries their stored crop by blowing air along a wooden tunnel running the length of the grain shed. The system has adequate power to blow air down the channel and through the drying floor, but the density of piled grain left areas vulnerable to heat build-up, with a stubborn hot spot in the middle of the store.

We recently worked with a long-standing customer near our base in Bridgnorth where the Fraser Roller Mill had worked reliably for over 25 years. It was clear that modernising the mill setup would offer benefits, so after discussing what the farm wanted to achieve we supplied and fitted a Sipma 7530 Roller Mill. This was mounted directly on top of the existing Fraser Meal Mixer Unit, resulting in a compact footprint while boosting throughput and lowering running costs.
To eliminate bottlenecks, we also fitted a 2.0m square BM hopper silo in the loft space directly above the milling unit, allowing for smooth grain straight into the Sipma mill below—saving time and labour.

Upgrading to the Sipma 7530 brought major performance benefits.
- 33% Wider Rollers: The new mill’s heavy-duty rollers are 300mm wide, with a 290mm diameter, allowing for a higher throughput of grain.
- Upgraded Power: Driven by a robust 7.5kW motor, the mill effortlessly processes up to 3 tonnes of grain per hour, making light work of daily feed preparation.
- The Innovative Three-Roller System: Unlike traditional two-roller setups, Sipma’s advanced three-roller configuration pre-crushes the grain in stages. This ensures superior crushing uniformity, resulting in highly digestible feed for livestock with minimal dust and waste.
- Built-in Protection: The mill includes a magnet cartridge to catch any stray metal or stones before they reach the rollers, protecting the machinery and ensuring long-term reliability.
