A customer in Worcestershire dries their stored crop by blowing air along a wooden tunnel running the length of the grain shed. The system has adequate power to blow air down the channel and through the drying floor, but the density of piled grain left areas vulnerable to heat build-up, with a stubborn hot spot in the middle of the store.
The chosen solution was a grain stirrer to continually mix and loosen the crop. Installing the stirrer required installation of a H-Frame over the wooden tunnel to create a rigid and durable mount for the tracks to run on.
The stirrer is now fitted, and ready to break up pockets of tightly packed grain, allowing air from the tunnel to flow freely to every corner of the shed and reduce the risk of static pressure.
