Danagri-3S is pleased to announce a significant new installation at a leading poultry farm in Herefordshire, designed to modernize on-site feed production and dramatically increase storage capabilities.
The heart of the expansion involves integrating high-volume storage within the existing grain shed. The installation includes:
- One 600-tonne round silo for primary bulk grain storage.
- Six BM square silos, each with a 35-tonne capacity, specifically for finished feed and designed to eliminates "dead space," allowing for maximum storage volume within the footprint. The bolt-together galvanized panels make them easy to install in tight spaces and allow for future expansion
To handle the processing of wheat, barley, and oats, the farm has opted for two SKIOLD SK5000 disc mills with benefits including:
- Adjustable Particle Size: The distance between the grinding discs can be adjusted during operation to produce a specific grist tailored to different poultry life stages, improving bird gut health and Feed Conversion Ratio.
- Low Energy Consumption: require significantly less power per tonne processed compared to hammer mills, leading to lower operational costs.
- Dust-Free & Quiet: creating a better working environment.
- Durability: The high-quality tungsten carbide discs offer a long lifespan, capable of grinding thousands of tonnes before requiring maintenance.

As volatility in grain prices continue into 2026, the ability to store and process feed on-site has become a critical for poultry producers. This project ensures the farm can capitalize on bulk buying and maintain strict control over nutritional quality. By combining high-density BM storage with SKIOLD’s precision milling technology, the Poultry Farm is securing its supply chain and ensuring its flock receives the highest quality, freshest feed possible.
