MILL & MIX HAMMER MILLS PAGE
Danagri-3S offers a comprehensive range of hammer mills from SKIOLD to complement any mill and mix system and for any livestock enterprise.

SKIOLD Hammer Mills are ideally suited to grinding ingredients for animal feed and are supplied complete with built-in fans which have the added advantage of cooling the meal in the process. The simple but robust construction of the mill enables it to be accommodated into most existing systems.
The hammers are made of hardened spring steel with a great wear resistance. All the hammers in a set are weighted so that the mill does not vibrate during operation. The hammers are reversible up to 4 times to increase durability.
A comprehensive range of replacement parts is available for all SKIOLD hammer mills, including hammers, screens, fan wings and protection covers. Added to this, a large range of accessories is available to give greater flexibility and adaptability into the SKIOLD range of mixers, proportioners and many other existing systems (see below).
Three models are available in the range: the DM-2, the DM-3 and the BM-5.
Type DM-2
This is supplied with either a 5.5 or 7.5 kW motor with a capacity of up to 500 kg/hr, a conveying capacity of up to 70 metres and a daily consumption of up to 2 tonnes.
Type DM-3
The DM-3 is supplied with either a 11, 15 or 18.5 kW motor with a capacity of up to 1300 kg/hr, a conveying capacity of up to 80 metres and a daily consumption of up to 5 tonnes. The DM-3 is also available in the Prof-Line version which have more durable parts.
Type BM-5
The BM-5 is the biggest in the range and is equipped with either a 30 or 37 kW motor with a capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes/hr, but the conveying capacity is limited to up to 30 metres.

PROF-LINE DM-3
The Prof-Line is a specially adapted version of the DM-3. The construction of this mill includes the use of wearing parts that have been specifically made to give extra long durability compared to the normal DM-3.
The mill is characterized by its large, conical suction hopper, which distributes the material more evenly over the hammer rotor therefore prolonging its lifetime. A complete Prof-Line set is available for remounting on the standard DM-3 mills.

SKIOLD Hammer Mills - Capacities
(the figure after the kW is the number of fan wings, eg 5.5/2 is 5.5 kW with 2 fan wings) Capacities and conveying lengths are dependent upon raw material, screen size, moisture and suction/blowing lengths ratios. |

ACCESSORIES
Cyclone and Filter
With air conveying, a cyclone is necessary to separate feed from air. Cyclones are adapted to the various mill types in order to obtain maximum separation. The air outlet of the cyclone is equipped with a filter for collecting fine dust. Alternatively, the air can be discharged into the open with with a rain cap fitted.
Feeding Device
The material is sucked into the mill through a feeding device which, for safety reasons is fitted with a magnet to catch possible iron parts in the grain. Feeding devices are available in lengths of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 metres. They can be mounted directly on the silo outlets.
Stone Trap
In order to protect the mill against damage, a stone trap is always mounted in the suction pipe. The stone trap separates all that is heavier than the grain, and a special device takes care that the stone trap is emptied automatically.
Ducting
A full range of ducting and accessories are available for each size of mill.
Booster Fan
In plants where the mill's own fan is not sufficient, a booster fan can be built into the system to increase conveying capacity by up to 150 m. The fan is built into the mill blowing line and does not increase the air quantity, but only the pressure in the system. The fan can be placed anywhere in the fan pipe of the mill, but there must be a minimum of 2 metres of straight pipe on the inlet and outlet of the fan, before a bend is placed. A special electrical panel, connected to the mill controller, operates the booster fan.
